Stupid idea for broken differential mount

I was just wondering about a temporary cure for my broken differential front mount. I'm tired of hearing the differential hitting the bottom of my car. I was wondering if can put in some sort of a cushion in between the differential and the car. Is there any chance of this working? Or is it just a retarded idea?

Depending on clearance, it may actually work (2x4 maybe?).

But replacing it is probably your best bet in the long run........

I heard of people putting a chain

You can get the Comp diff mount (harder rubber) for $90 or so

Mine is starting to make a thump noise now
I'll just have mine welded , since I don't drive the car everyday I would not care about vibrations etc

I'm looking to cure the same problem on my TII I just picked up. I had a broken mount on my n/a as well. I had it welded twice, but it broke again both times. The car had a stret port and a large carb on it. So I want to make sure I can get something to hold the TII in place without breaking in a few weeks.

Jeez, it's not like the comp mount is $500 or something...the mount is like $80!

If you're gonna pull the whole rear suspension off to replace the diff mount, just get the comp mount and be done with it. I'd rather spend $80 and do it once than find some sort of hack and do it over and over again.
