stripped tranny mount holes and bolts :\

Soooooo ya I never quite figured out what bolts go into the tranny mount holes on the bottom of the car. That being said I stripped the hell out of the holes and the bolts. Anyways somehow I got 2 of them up there and that is what I am using now. Anyways on my next engine swap I am going to fix this. What would you recommend as a plan of attack for this? Helicoil? Something better / easier?

Thanks.

Yea, thats what I'd do... thats how the main ground/top of starter bolt is attached on the turbos anyway.

i had to deal with this same problem last month......i bought a shell and when i went to bolt the new tranny mount in the holes were stripped so i drilled, tapped and helicoiled those 2 holes with a 1/2-13 helicoil and worked like a charm. hope that helps you out. -mike
