Stripped Shock tower bolts
out of 4 bolts that holds the shock, 2 of them (fender sides) has been stripped and can't get them off.
fcker's had been on the car for 20 years and I made a f*&$%^#$%king mistake of trying to get them off while the car was jacked up.
any ideas?
don't want to damage the shock tower obviously.
how much would a repair shop charge for taking two stripped bolts out?
day long labor gone sour.

I hate when bolts are stubborn. You have a few options. I'm not for sure what you've already tried, but get some PB Blaster if you haven't already and soak, soak, soak. Second, are you using a six point socket? If not, use one. Third, can you get some vise grips on it? I've used vise grips to get stubborn nuts off before. Finally, Craftsman makes a bolt extractor that works pretty well. Its not the old type where you drill and use an easy out, which I hate doing. These cut into the top of the bolt head or nut. Whatever you do, soak it with PB Blaster first, that stuff is the shiznit...lol!
These aren't "bolts", these are the nuts on the studs that hold the strut at the top, right?
If so, just cut the nuts off.
If you're careful- and lucky- you can retap the studs and be fine.
If not, replace the upper strut mount.

go to sears, and get some of these:

they'll dig into the nuts and get them out.

The Strut bearing is what has the studs on it.It is on top of the shock.
the studs go through the 4 holes in the Tower body and attach with 4-14mm nuts.
If you have Stripped the hexagonal shape of the nut,use a nut extractor Set( looks like a socket:throw over the nuts and the inside of the socket is Counter cut to make the Socket DIG into the nut and take it off)
Now,If the Threads on the Stud are stripped, then get a Dremel or a FILE,or chisel, and crack the Nut off the Stud...You may be able to put a flat screwdriver inbetween the Body and the Nut and Pry UP while turning the nut.Ity may grab enough to Turn its way off.(done that before.Works).
Last Desperate meassure is to cut the Nut right off.Stud and all.then you either try to put another Stud in or replace the upper strut bearing plate.,
