So I need help on choosing which type of porting I would like to do on my FC, I do daily it before anyone asks. I'm just looking at the other specifics from them, like pricing, MPG, most practical etc etc. let me know your experiences you had with yours and your thoughts on what i should do, thanks!

streetport, the car will run like *** with a bridgeport on the stock ECU unless you have a standalone.

even then, the benefits of bridgeports is rather minor and the cons are rather steep.


in fact, even a streetport on a n/a car is barely noticable, it is from going to turbo exhaust port sleeves is where you gain anything of significance. so by removing the exhaust port wings and streetporting the engine you pick up about 15-20 hp and can drive a smooth running car with the same gas mileage. with a bridgeport and removing the exhaust port wings you gain 15-20hp and get a lopey ride, lose off idle torque, lose about 20% fuel economy and bring unwanted attention to yourself if you live in an emissions state.

if all you want is the brap brap, well that's a bridgeport, but is it really worth it? i will admit i love the sound but i have never owned a bridgeported car, though i have built many.

Leave the darn ports alone lol if ur turbo u can make good power on stock ports if ur n/a if ur willing to leave a lil mpg behind for some ponies a middest street port will get you there, i have a turbo halfbridge and everytime i stop at a red light i can watch the gas gauge go down. Lmfao gotta pay to play! So if u can afford alot more gas and premix do what ever u want

 

this is the most backwards post i have ever read. bridgeports don't even benefit a 6 port engine, they do however have some benefit in allowing a 4 port engine to breathe better.

 

I have a daily driver bridgeported Turbo II. The idle speed is set at 1,500 RPM (less RPM and the engine dies). There is a lumpy idle all the time (I like the sound). The exhaust tone is much louder. Consume a lot of fuel ($40 each 4 days at local driving). Is quite good to drive. It have his a/c system working and I used with the a/c on all the time. The ECU is programable (not stock ECU).

 

I dont think your replieing to what i said? Based on i never said anything about bridgeports on a 6 port engine.. Lol if anything i told him to go small street port if anything,

 

you said non turbo, which is 6 port.

unless we're somehow talking about 12A engines, or just about anything prior to 1984. there was also 6 port engines in earlier generations in '84/'85.

when i think about an FC i don't immediately assume it has a carbed 4 port engine in it... which is also counterproductive in some ways.

must have been the grammar blending it together, sounded like you said a bridge would benefit the 6 port engine and 4 port turbos should be left alone.

 

Im glad that got cleared up 👍 just more or less told him that a bridgeport on a daily isnt ideal in any case
