strange tps signals

I went out tonight with my homemade tps checker in hand to try to fix some low rpm bucking and pulsation i was having. I plugged in the tps lights and then one of them starts blinking. I turn the screw as far out and as far in, but no change. Only one light blinking the whole time. Then I realize this is not gonna work because I can't get any feedback from the engine so i adjust and drive. It may have gotten a bit better..or its the same. I'm not sure.

But anyone know whats wrong with my tps situation? Flashing light? My engine was running warm.

And now, when I tap the gas at low rpm, when i let off, it has a double take around 1k rpm. it drops smoothly till there, rises for a fraction of a second, then falls again to 750. Even in neutral.

Any ideas guys?

Thanks

What your TPS test gizmo is doing is very strange. Either you have it connected to the wrong connector, or something else is causing this problem. Anyway, to get the TPS correctly adjusted, I would get a digital voltmeter, find the plug where the TPS sensor is plugged into, push the positive probe into the connector with the green/red stripe wire, negative probe to any good ground, turn on the ignition and adjust as close as possible to 1.00 volts (engine fully warmed up). If you can't get the adjustment, you have a bad TPS or wiring problem or ECU. Most likely TPS. If you do get it adjusted, open the throttle slowly until the TPS is fully extended, noting the voltage. It should change smoothly (no sudden jumps to 5.0 volts or 0 volts) to just about 5 volts. If it does not, replace the TPS. If you still have trouble with your light gizmo, we can troubleshoot that (you are actually looking at the ECU signals to the switching and relief valve solenoids, NOT the tps), but at least the TPS will be adjusted correctly and checked for proper function. Have fun!
