Strange tone pattern
Strange tone pattern
Tonight, I put the battery in my car for the first time in a long time to turn over my new rebuild. When I turned the key to the on position, the tone pattern (beeping) was strange. It was like beep....beep beep beep.... beep.....beep beep beep...
I tried searching this, but to no avail...then when I tried to start my car..I got an unidentifiable white smoke on the inside of the car, smelled like plastic or something electrical.. Anyone have any ideas??? I couldn't locate the source of the smoke....worried.

It is a 91 Turbo...and I don't THINK I put the batt in backwards...all that labor to put the batt in backwards...anyway, did that pattern make sense to you. The lights were on, the clock said 1:00...I will look at the batt tommorrow...and I might like it if you could look sometime..the car is in the Smyrna area...
A 1991 Turbo...
I am familiar with the car.
I certainly hope you disconencted the battery!!!
The smoke was most likely from somthing burning out.
I'll put $ that the battery went in backwards.
The tones you heard were from the CPU on the driver side.
You must have had the key in the ignition.
If you hooked the battery up backwards, and tried to start it, that sent power backwards throughout the whole car.
Had it just been hooked up backwards for a moment, and then disconnected, then only the CPU would be in danger.
Either way, I can repair the car.
No matter what is burnt.
PM me for my number.
I can garauntee my work.
