What would cause the engine to start when pumping the gas and not start when not pumping??
It does have a hard time starting but eventually start when the pedal is pumped while cranking.
The compression is good.
It doesn't flood when it should. Fuel filter partially clogged?
It does idle like crap and somewhat surging idle. No vaccum leaks whatsoever and tps is set after warmed up. Sorta stumped.

 

check plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump wiring, etc.
