Strange start up-idle

Sometimes when I start my car up the the car would automatically rev up to around 3500 RPM and stay there for a bit and slowly drop down. Sometimes it would also just start up to 2000 and stay there for a shorter time and then eventually drop down...

why is this? btw its random all the time no matter what gear i start her up in + neutral.

its a warm up thing, you can pervent if by starting it in first. READ FAQ AND SEARCH BEFORE POSTING AGAIN.

It's the "accelerated warmup" alright. What year is your RX-7?

its a 1990 model

yes I guys I know that its a startup thing and ive read the faq before this but even if i start in FIRST GEAR sometimes it still does it...

btw sometimes after starting it up at the beginning it idles good, but then for some reason it goes from 1000 rpm to 2000 rpm then back to 1000 rpm constantly as if it needs gas.

I found one solution when it does that, simply just tap the throttle but is there another way?
