Strange start stall problem.

So this is my first thread on here. I've been searching all morning to see if anyone has ran into this same problem that I have. I've found many about starting and then stalling but for some reason when I start the car it'll fire then die and then not move, after a few seconds of sitting it'll spin but very slowly.

I just purchased the car its a 90' vert with a turboII swap a good friend of mine did the swap and was going to use it as a daily, being that he has too many cars and projects he decided to sell it. A younger kid bought the car from him before he managed to finish everything on the swap, said kid went out against Ben's advice and drove the car with low coolant and no battery tie down. When the kit took a corner the battery fell out of the tray and stalled, then it would not start I was told it wouldn't spin at all.

So fast forward the car has been sitting for sometime now, I got it home and out of curiosity I decided to try and start it it would spin but was very sluggish, hooked a set of jumper cables to it and it would spin normally. I checked the oil and it smelled of gas so I de-flooded the car and then it fired right up, but then died instantly after this it would act as if it were locked up. Again after sitting it would spin slowly, so I decided to call it a night.

With that being said I bought the car with the intentions of using the parts off the car and possibly rebuilding the motor, I didn't really pay a lot for it and got a bunch of good stuff, so really my question is has anyone experienced this problem?

Sounds like you may have more than one problem.

The starting and then stalling sounds like a problem I had a while back, check the AFM is working within specs and the connections are good.

The cranking slowly problem sounds like an issue a friend of mine had with his starter and grounds:

try starting the engine, after it stalls immediately try turning the engine by hand, if it does not budge then you likely have a spun bearing on your hands(rebuild the engine).

you can also try removing all the belts and see if the engine starts and runs for several minutes, indicating an accessory seizing up issue.
