Strange Smoking Issue

So I have read through pages and pages of smoking issues, only a few of which resemble mine. There is no smoke at start-up or idle. However, when I get on the gas (at and above 5k rpms or so) it spews smoke like there is no tomorrow. Considering I am the driver I can't tell if the smoke is coming from the exhaust or somewhere else.

Most of the opinions I have heard mention rebuilding, which I am not ready to accept. Heres some history:

I recently got the car (about a week and a half ago) and drove it home (80ish miles) without an issue. I changed the oil a few days after getting it and since then there is an oil leak from what appears to be the oil cooling lines, and the smoking issue.

I have had questions about my Oil Metering Pump which I have not been able to answer considering my lack of tools. There is no check engine light so I'm not sure if the OMP would be an issue or whether i have too much faith in my dummy lights.

That should be all you need to know, if there are any questions I can answer please feel free to ask.

Any advice/help is very appreciated.
Thanks.

isn't the OMP if you can take it past 3.5k

and

what make and model?

oil doesn't magically appear inside the engine so it has:

a) bad oil seals if it's n/a

or

b) bad turbo oil seal and/or bad engine oil seals.

sorry but there isn't anything around those 2 things, or it could be coolant inside the engine but doubtful if it's only while revving the engine.

It is past 3.5k under load if that makes any difference. It is the 1990 GTU. I have assumed its the oil seals since it is n/a, but I was hoping it could be something else.

well it could be coolant but unlikely, either way it's internal in the engine. you can try running thicker engine oil like 20W-50 if you aren't and that may help to a degree.

OR

it could be the Crank case ventilation.

if your crank case isn't vented properly it can cause smoking just like that (like mine did)

If the OMP were bad, you'd be in "limp mode"

What would be the easiest way to check/solve this problem?

I am looking for a reliable mechanic in my vicinity to do a rebuild and I dont want to have it rebuilt and not solve the problem. Anyone know someone good around San Francisco Bay Area in California?
