The straight dope on tII transmisions and their driveshafts?

I searched and searched what is the difference between the TII driveshaft and the n/a driveshaft? Is it the splines, the length, or the bolt pattern which is different? Detailed answers are greatly appreciated, since I may fab my own. But non detailed answers are awesome too!
