Stored engine
I might be picking up an 86 gxl (automatic, YUCK!) that has been sitting in a garage for two years. Does anyone know what the best way is to nurse it back to health. It has good compression, etc no engine problems.
I'm thinking, drain the fuel system, replace the pulsation dampners, new fuel filter, new plugs, wires, oil change, new o2 sensor, cooling system flush, new thermostat, replace hoses as needed, fresh atf in the tranny, new tranny filter, brake bleed and a light atf treatment before I try to fire it up. Is there anything else i should think about replacing?

it's not starting right now, i believe it's flooded, also the battery is dead.
This means, I get it really cheap, 900 can, that's like 500 american

A light MMO or ATF treatment left to sit for a few days is almost a requirement. When you get her started, it'll probably need a TPS and BAC tune up (my GXL stored for 6 months needed it). Make sure to drain that old fuel and run plenty of injector cleaner as well. When you run her, DO NOT take it above 3000 RPMs for about 100 miles.
Good luck!

As you have already cranked tohe motor, it may be no good, but I recommend pulling the EGI fuse and turning her over until your register some oil pressure. Just a little safety thing I would do.
