Stock Wastegate Options?

instead of buying an aftermarket wastegate for $800AU, could i grind out the stock wastegate to make it bigger?

how big can you grind out a stock wastegate to safely?

they're 30-something mm from the factory aren't they?

thanks,

you can't add an aftermarket wastegate to a stock turbo and manifold setup. you would need to buy a new turbo and manifold as well. $$$$

you can grind the wastegates out, and if you have an 87-88 you can add a 89-91 turbo and manifold which has a better one. then port that out to make it even better.

If I change my 87 TII over to an 89-91 Turbo and Manifold, would all of the oil/water lines and everything else go together? They way I understand it is basically this....
The 87 Turbo only works with 87-88 Manifold
The 89-91 Turbo only works with 89-91 Manifold
Either manifold will bolt on to the engine with no mods
Either turbo can mount to my current exhaust with no mods
Are these assumptions correct? If so, I might be doing a small upgrade real soon.
Also,
how big can you grind out a stock wastegate to safely?
that's my question too
