Is the stock top mount inter cooler suppose to have any kind of heat shielding on the bottom of it? If so I think mines is missing it. I'll have to check again later today.

If Im missing. I just stick some heat wrap on it. work out the same?

 

Only heat shielding is on the top as far as I know.

I'm not 100% sure though, so don't rely on me.

 

there shouldn't be any heat shielding. the IC needs to be able to breathe extremely well. other-wise you'll just be forcing air into a plate and it wont charge the air properly... eventually leading to detonation.

 

THere is a sheild underneath the interecooler. I think its more of an airflow setup rather then blocking heat. But It must block heat somewhat.

 

There is a metal plate on the bottom of the intercooler, you might try covering the bottom of it with some heat reflective tape or something.
