Stock Stereo Question...

Was a tad bit afraid of posting this cause I know somebody's gonna come beat me over the head with a searched thread that I missed or something like that... Anyways, I've been searching and reading for about the last 45 minutes at least, and can't find anything relevant to my specific situation.

I recently picked up a stock cassette radio with equalizer from *TOUCH* (who is pretty much the man btw...). When I went to hook it up today, I noticed there were a couple of plugs that are the same, two plug-ins with three prongs (one horizontal and two vertical) and two with one prong (horizontal). I've tried all variations of corresponding plugs and plug-ins and I get the same result every time, When I cut the key on and the power to the stereo on, the antenna goes up, but nothing happens on the stereo itself, nothing lights up, no sound comes out, nothing. I've checked all my fuses and they are good. Then I noticed that there was a cut wire in the stereo cavity, attached to the chassis, with a crimped end on it that the PO had obviously fooled with. I was wondering if this was possibly a ground for the plug-in slot that I have no plug for. I tried jumping it with a fused jumper wire and blew, in succession a 10, 20, and 25 amp fuse.

So I guess the question is, who knows what is supposed to go in the hole I'm missing, and are my connectors all hooked up right? Thanks in advance!

The stock radio gets its ground by being mounted in the dash. If the stock radio is not screwed in, it won't have a ground (except through the power antenna, but then if the antenna base has any corrosion on it, that will be even less of a ground).

If the radio doesn't work and you have it screwed into the dash, and your dome light works, and your radio fuse is not blown (and you need to meter the wires, not just look at the fuse) then the radio is bad.

AAAHHHHHhhhh.... This is where I failed, I never had it fully mounted in because I wanted to make sure it would work before I put everything back together... Thanks Mark! Also where did you find that picture? I checked the FSM but couldn't find anything... And it shows me exactly what I needed to know.
