Stock Stereo & aftermaket antenna?!?!
I just installed the $20 radio shack antenna into my '86. That was straight forward.
Now, I am moving on to the '91 TII with the stock Clarion.
I know it sends a Negative signal to the antenna. The Radio shack one wants a positive signal. I know something about a relay.
If I had a Aftermarket stereo with a stock antenna this relay would work. It would take the positive signal and change it to a negative signal.
How do I make it work the other way? Have a negative signal sent to the relay and have it then change to a positive signal. Do I basicly hook the relay up in reverse?
I have the relay and some great documantation from somebody elses post.
Had a NON Relay idea. Could I hook the signal wire (From the stereo) up to the GROUND of the Antenna. Then the constant 12V to Battery. And leave the antenna signal wire dead? Would this not work? My electical knowledge is low but moving up Trying to learn.
