Stock Size Aftermarket Header.
Stock Size Aftermarket Header.
Is there a header for a S4 N/A that will replace the stock one and bolt up to the exhaust system I already have? I'm looking for something that will net me some performance gain.
a header wont really give you a noticable gain in power.. and if you have a stock exhaust, a pacesetter header will bolt right up (some people dont like them, but they have never failed me!) .. it will replace only the manifold and the pre-cat, but will leave the main cat....
Racing beat header + presilencer.
But if you use these on a stock exhaust, it will sound like a can of bumble bees.
It will probably sound gross with any header. You reall need an aftermarket catback to get the most power potential anyways.

check this out though:

it is recomended ove the header for an n/a setup, since there is barely any difference at all. plus that presilencer sexes up the exhaust note while removing your cat.
Just take out the cats. Use the racing beat's 'Cat replacement pipe, with presilencer'
It will bolt up, be very high quality, and give you a noticible increase in power.
If youv got stock mufflers, it will still be nice and quite.
Edit: I just noticed cool guys post, and will chime in on the power differences on these setups.
I just changed from my racingbeat header/presilencer, to the Cat replacement pipe. Yes a downgrade.. but, that header is loud as hell!
anyway, There was a noticable increase in power with the header. I also read the statement on the racingbeat website, that says, unless your running a carb, large port ect, than the header will not help. But like I said, I noticed a difference in power when I replaced my bonez racepipe with the header, than back down the the a cat replacement pipe.

I guess I wasn't clear enough, sorry. I don't have a stock exhaust. I have a stock header which is flanged to my custom exhaust. This is the only flanged part of the exhaust, the rest is welded. 2.5" to a resonator --> 2.5" to a Y pipe --> 2.25" to free flowing mufflers and out. I was looking for something to replace the stock header and will still bolt up to the existing exhaust. I do not want to cut it apart. Which is why I can't go with something like the racing beat header.
