GXL cloth seats without slides weigh around 26 lbs each (depending on covering material) and around 35 lbs with the slides.

The other seat would fit, however may be a bit tall for fitting to stock slides/mounting brackets

this is an important point... I installed a Sparco Ultra seat (fiberglass fixed position bucket, weighs 12 pounds) and there was a great weight difference. But, I cannot get the Sparco seat low enough when using the stock sliders because the oem seat is designed to have the bottom fit right down in between the sliders but most aftermarket race seats are fluch/level with the bottom/slider mounts. unless you bolt your seat to the floor directly (without slliders) like using sidemount brackets, your seat will be higher than stock.

I'm not saying weight shouldn't be a minor consideration, but if you're buying aftermarket seats for their weight savings in a street car, you're getting very low bang for the buck for the performance.

Typically most street legal seats weigh as much if not slightly more than the stock seats once the adpater brackets are installed.
