Stock s4 wiring harness capacity
Hey I read through the whole FAQ section and still couldn’t find an answer. Will I be safe running a 200 amp alternator with the fc wiring harness or will that strain the fuse box and other components. If so what’s the max amperage the system can safely handle

I’m assuming you’re running a stereo or something off of an alt that big. Can’t think why else you’d need one with that much capacity...
I’d look into doing the big three but the wiring between the fuse block and the rest of the chassis wouldn’t be drawing more than it is currently. This is assuming you’ve run a new power wire to whatever you added to require a 200 amp alternator

i think the main fuse is 80 Amps on an S4, so i'm going to say it can handle 79 Amps...
the S5 has larger wires and a bigger fuse, i wanna say 100A? so that should point you in the direction you want to go
that being said you probably don't need 200A from the alternator, but it will probably handle situations where you turn everything on at once better
