Stock S4 TII boost sensor alternatives?

The boost reading (from the piggy-back) become unstable at times... Here are some related questions ...

Does the boost sensor ever gone bad?
What are the symptoms you have experienced with a bad stock boost sensor?
What are the alternatives?
I am considering a full standalone or a Rtek2, would my options be different?
The car is boosted by a BNR stage III at @~14lb, is the stock boost sensor sufficient?
Could there be anything else going on? e.g. bad MAF? Computer (Rtek1.7)? Known stock wiring issue?

Thanks!!! Your advise would be great;y appreciated!

There are no alternatives. A full standalone will have it's own MAP sensor. Unstable readings may just be due to a loose wire in the connector.
