stock radiator question...

Is there any real reason why our radiators are slanted? the only thing I could think of is that having the radiator slanted would give it more surface area and a little more volume.

I think having it slanted allowed the use of a larger radiator than could be fitted vertically.

Exactly, you can fit a bigger radiator under a lower bonnet line by tilting the radiator from the vertical. Look at the FD for an even more extreme example.
