is stock na catback exhaust different than t2

sorry.... probubly a stupid question..... i had to put a factory exhaust back on my car and all i could find was one from a 88 na..... it fit fine, but wondered if the diameter of the pipes were different from na to turbo??? i definently noticed a decrease in power (went from 3" single exhaust back to factory)... thanx in advance

Not certain as to the diameter, but the factory mufflers are different for a n/a & turbo. I don't think the diameter is different as they both take the same main converter I believe. Can't locate the parts catalog at the present time though.

The cat back Y pipe is the same between Turbo and Non turbo models, however there are different mufflers based on if it is a Turbo, Non turbo, or convertible.

The non turbo mufflers are slightly heavier from increased internal baffles. The vert mufflers are even heavier still again from even more internal baffles.

The vert ones are the quietest though.
