Stock FD blow off valve on a TII??

Will it work ok? My friend has an 87 TII and he was telling me in order to vent the stock bov to the atmosphere you have install a check valve. I know that was never the case in my FD so I was wondering if I took one of my old stock bov's from my FD and put it on his car and vented it to the atmosphere would it work ok without installing anything additional? Thanks in advance.

If fd's came with a stock BOV and not a bypass valve (like ours) then yes it will work.
