Stock coolant temp gauge wire color?

I have an 87 TII. Swapped the motor, now the stock coolant gauge doesn't work. Not good, i need to tell how hot the engine is. I'm going to run a new wire from the stock sensor. What is the color of the wire that goes to the stock coolant gauge in the instrument cluster?

Thanks,
-Ryan

I am currently running a carbed setup in my S4 TurboII and would like to get the stock temp gauge working again. Is it as simple as grabbing the yellow / white at the sensor off the rear iron and connecting it to the yellow white behind the cluster...? Or is there an easier spot to grab it at vs taking out / getting behind the the cluster, if in fact just connecting the two actually does work...? Thanks.

After looking in the FSM the yellow with a white stripe off the temp gauge sensor in the rear plate runs down to the passenger kick panel area and hits connector FEM-01 (big yellow connector w/15 pins) where it turns into yellow w/a black stripe. I ran my own wire since my my harness is bye byes off the sensor and hooked her to y/b... Gauge now works.
