stock cat specs for muffler replacement.

so as of now, ive got a 2.5 inch downpipe, into an rb presilencer, and then a 3 inch open single catback to an open muffler.

I love the exhasut, but im thinking of changing a couple things.

ive got a header, but it bolts up to the stock cat. I dont have the cat anymore, and with no emmisions here I dont want it.

im thinkingt about installing the header I have after coating it in high heat ceramic paint, running through a 4" round magnaflow muffler, and then to the 3" cat back.

The 4" magnaflows are 14" long, with a 3" intlet and outlet on either side.

now the inlet and outlet can be trimmed to size, but I need to know the stock cat specs to see if the 14" body will fit into the system...

thanks guys!!!

Why such a big exhaust on a N/A? Best bet for performance reasons would be to stick with 2-2.25 inch piping. 2.5 at most unless some how you have gobs and gobs of HP. You need backpressure man.

Using the full Racing Beat unit would be a wise (especially in the long run) exhaust choice. That is of course, if you like the sound of it. Run the headers, to the mid pipe, to the exhaust.

Also, I dunno about the "high heat ceramic paint" idea. I havn't heard of that. From what I understand, ceramic coated headers on a LS motored Integra doesn't hold up. Think about how it'll hold up to the heat our cars put out. Then again I could be wrong about this high heat ceramic paint your talking about...I have no experiance, someone with experiance should que in here.

I doont have the money for a new exhasut. I already have the header and the catback, I jsut need a piece to fill the gap, and I dont want to put the stock cat back in, I figured a small magnaflow would be a good replacement to keep volume down.

so does ahyone ahve an aswer as to how large the cat is?

Well a 4inch mid-pipe isn't what I'd consider small. Get a quote from a local muffler shop to make ya one and weld it or put the ends to bolt up. Im sure it's cheaper then you probably think. How much money are you looking to spend?

Search for the size, carsound makes a OEM size as their product. Din't have time to look at their site, check it out.

I want to add a second muffler into the system to quiet it down, I have a totally open exhaust and my neighbours are getting pissed.

I currently run the stock header, a shop bent down pipe, into an rb presilencer, and then a custom 3" cat back.

I ALSO have an RB/ Monza style header which I'd like to be using, but it bolts up to the stock cat, not the presilencer.

I dont want to install the stock cat, so im looking for a muffler that will fit in its place. I thought one of the best solutions would be the 4" round mufflers from Magnaflow, the smallest they have that I could find. I jsut need to know if it will fit if it is 14" long

edit: jsut took a read through that site you suggested. looks like ive got a 17.5 inch gap to play with. COOL. thanks a lot
