stock boost gauge fix!!!

stock boost gauge fix!!!

my boost gauge just went straight to hell. i dont know. but my stock boost seems to be reading just a little over ZERO. hmm .. but the car seems to be boostin just fine. man my s*&^7 is dead i guess. does know how to fix it...

You should be concerned. You should get a meter and tap into the ECU at pin 2B and compare the voltage readings when under boost with the chart at this site:http://www.teamfc3s.org/info/articles/fcd/diy_fcd.htm and or go to your manual and check the output of the pressure sensor by pulling a 3.9 inHg vac. The voltage reading should be 2.0 to 2.5volts when this is done. I'll leave it up to someone else to suggest getting an aftermarket boost gauge. Actually the reading of the stock gauge could save your engine even if you had an aftermarket gauge. The aftermarket will read boost, which is fine, but a lack of voltage at the stock gauge coould also indicate a lack of voltage at the ECU, which would mean your engine could be running dangerously lean. The gauge and the ECU use the same wire from the pressure sensor. Be careful.
