stock alarm

I bought my t2 about 4 months ago now...it has the stock alarm but I never used it. When I bought it I didn't get a alarm clicker so I never thought much of it. Well yesterday I left the keys in my car so I could listen to some music while I filled up the car...when I opened the door to get back in the alarm went off. I'd never heard it before, it's never gone off or anything....it's LOUD. So I popped the hood, grabbed some pliers from my glove box and disconnected the battery. Is there any way to turn off the stock alarm that I don't know about?

yeah.. open up the door, put the key in it, and "unlock" the door.

Barwick is correct, they disarm by turning the key in the drivers door to unlock. There was no remote control available for the US models.

On the 88 models with alarm you could also disarm with the key in either door or the trunk and turning it to the unlock position.
