See the sig. The intake package is soooo close to being done!!!

Anyways to actually be of use in this thread. If you mean the BOX part you don't need it anymore but if you mean the hose connected to the AFM you still need that.
Unless you buy our TRUE cold air intake

BTW the only reason I want to wait that long is to make sure its ok on my car for more than a couple of days. I have had it on for about 4 days already. But I want a slightly longer term test.

Practically none. The snorkel will only work if it's connected to a sealed box. Little if any air is pushed through it (air follows that path of least resistance, and that ain't it), so most of the air entering the pod filter is what has come through the radiator.

If you don't seal your airbox completely to the snorkel, it'll still suck hot air from under the bonnet. If you do seal it completely, the duct will be causing an intake restriction due to it's size.

Throw it away and find a way to get a bigger duct to feed air to the filter. Make sure your heat shield (most people don't build real airboxes) seals the pod off from the engine bay as well as possible.

All good points but!

Ive just modded my std air box to take the pod filter i have, i basicly cut out the base and fiberglassed it so it would hodl the pod and have some room around it.

Ive kept the std cold air pipe as well has added 2 x 2" pipes (sitt doing that part) that feed into the box and run from the front of the car, you could use a single 3" or somethng else.

without the pipes hooked up ive lowered my average moving intake temps by about 20oC and at a standstill by about 30oC!! should be better again once i finish it off. its a good easy mod for the DIY people.
