Still Won't Run Below 3000 Rpms!

Again, I have an 88 n/a auto tranny that I just replaced the engine on. The engine now in the car has decent compression (I have checked that). I have checked the timing and it is in the ballpark (can't set it exactly because the car will not come close ti idleing). I have checked, rechecked and then checked again for any hoses not connected or any other vacuum leaks and found none. I do not know what to do at this point. Everything on the car was working great until an apex seal blew on the original engine. Everything on the current engine came from the original engine. Before the apex seal went the car would idle perfectly at 750 rpms all day long.

Also, the oil pressure gauge is reading way high. The needle pegs out as soon as I turn on the key. Any way this could be related. If not, what is causing this and if so, again, what is causing and how do I fix it.

Please don't tell me to check this hose or that hose or to look for vacuum leaks. I have done both for a solid week now and all hoses are in place and there are no vacuum leaks Now what?

Check the hose and that hose..j/k bro
Check your Air flow meter and see if its hooked in good. If that doesnt work replace it with somebody else's. Or check the ohm's. You may have also a ground somewhere?.

I just kind of had the same problem. Check the air flow meter. Mine was frozen shut.

I have not had a chance to do anything else to the car today but I forgot to mention this in the original post.

After the engine runs for a minute or two (again, I have to keep it at around 3000 rpms to keep it running) an alarm starts to go off. I almost sounds like the sound of the key in the ignition with the door open sound but just a little different.

Any ideas what this is and would it be related to the nowhere close to idling problem?
