Still hunting problems #2

So today I finally had time to work on the car again, I have a really busy schedule and the car is at my parent's house.

Anyways on to the good/bad stuff:

For prior info refer to https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...hreadid=218899

Thing accomplished, installed acv block off plate, didn't make a difference, but sure looks a lot better.

Tried reading Ohm voltage @ TPS to find out my multi crapped out on me somehow, will buy new one...

Went to ECU to redo grounds, felt inspired by other posts.

Here is the current situation:

Number 1: clock only works with door closed, but ALWAYS with door closed, it NEVER works with door open and it ALWAYS says 1:00, now I know there is the infamous cold solder BUT I have resoldered the entire assembly, and it doesn't flicker it just works as described.

When I started the car after the ecu reground (followed black wire to crimp, added new wire ala new ground) It seemed great @ first, idled around 1000/900 or so. awesome, then it rised up to 1500, then I revved and it dropped after and then just decided to stay around 1500.

For some reason now....I am gonna have to double check how this happened, my AFC is off on rpms by a good 800 rpms or more at times, thats a new one, maybe I knocked the wire loose down there??

The car feels a lot smoother but the idle problem persists and the clock thing just bothers me, its a clue maybe???

BTW I also grounded the pressure sensor too.

As well as took off all the hoses, and retightened them clamps everything, LEAK PERSISTS!!!

Dan

P.S. PLEASE help

Your number 1 thing (the clock) is because you have a blown room fuse.

Always check fuses first before doing anything electrical

Well Icemark was completely correct, room fuse had gone.

I tried cleaning out my tps today it crapped out right in my hands. No longer does the plunger move in and out freely, it just gets stuck.

So I guess its time to order a new one...

Hopefully that will help out with my idle problems although I am not certain its entirely the culprit...

Find a junk yard TPS. A new one is an arm and leg.

I was thinking about that but the forum kinda scared me with used TPS's. I just figured it was one of those things that was worth the money to buy new?

I still haven't ordered a new one, as they do cost an arm and a leg, is a used one worth the gamble?

To bad you don't have a s5 TII. I was willing to part mine out to you.

The gamble Is usually found out when Installed and running. I share the same approach as you when It came to the replacement of the TPS. I opted to buy brand new b'c somethings are worth It that way, IMO.

I think I'll have to bite the bullet and just go for it...

Thanks for the advice.
