Been a good while since I played with a S4 but doesnt the s4 have the fuel pump switch built into the AFM? how is it running with the afm unplugged? Bypassed with a switch or jumpered?

Series four will START without a afm installed because the AFM has nothing to do with the Start cycle. Once over five hundred rpm though the afm is in the loop and the car Should die if there is no afm installed.

So I'd say that someone has either jumpered the fuel pump check connector to keep the fuel pump running or did some other non stk bypass of the fuel pump in that car.

Its very possible that someone did something like that. I believe i am the six or seventh owner of the car so anything is possible. But with the new AFM I ordered that shouldnt be a problem.

i took mine off so i will check and let you know what. Unless you are removing it or something like that, i would replace everything on it and keep it stock.
