Still can't Decide:Single or Dual...

Thats why Im getting the RB exhaust.
I want something that will perform a lot better than stock, but still be relatively quiet and not droney on the highway.
That and they make a turbo-back, which saves a lot of money as opposed to a seperate downpipe, midpipe, and catback system.
Anyone have info on the new RB T2 full system? I want one and the website says they are redesigning it but no other info
Well, I have decide. Single it is. I am buying a N1 "style" stainless steel cat-back form a guy in the "for sale" area! I will try to do some before and after pics when I get the racepipe and muffler bolted in! Thanks for the feed back!

my theory is unless you have two separate pipes going from each exhaust port to the bumper, then single is the way to go...the y-pipe just creates turbulance...and the dual is heavier. the single is deeper sounding.
here is a side view of mine single...
go japanese...go single!

Once again, it seems that most people in this thread adhere to the philosophy of, if it looks cool, and costs a lot, it must be good. And thats great if thats what your looking for, but if you want performance, you will look at it completely different.
2 exhaust pipes are bad. for a few reasons. The first, and most obvious, wieght. Why have it if you dont need it. The second, you have already connected the two pipes at the cat or collector (for those of you without cats), so, at this point it is pointless to have two pipes, because you are already functioning as one. Ok, so you might have true dual (no connection), well, how are you expecting your engine to scavenge (matching exhaust pulses from the two rotors to create pressure waves that will effectively pull exhaust from each rotor). Oh yeah, and not to mention the head loss associated with two exhaust pipes.
1 pipe all the way back from the collector is more efficient. Make the rest of your exhaust the same size as your 2 to 1 collector or marginally larger and you will maintain a higher exhaust velocity, with less backpressure than a dual.
I mentioned before scavenging, this can be tuned by varying the distance of your collector from your exhaust ports, to provide more torque or power at certain rpm's (depending how you do it).
Ok, so I jumped around a bit, but it all comes down to this,
a single exhaust all the way back, is going to be more efficient and more powerful than a dual exhaust all the way back.
there is less material, so the system is lighter.
and who cares about how many 6inch coffee cans you have sticking out the back of your car, only rice boys do.
Get a book and do a little research into intake and exhaust system design and you will be able to understand how changes to your exhaust will affect your car.
Oh yeah, when's the last time you saw an ITS race car with dual exhaust? If you did, I gaurantee it wasn't winning.

I have the GReddy SP Sport dual - slanted double wall tips. I couldn't care less about the negligable weight diff. between single and dual.
Primary reason I like dual is aesthetics. Duals just flat-out look better.
I can see the stainless cans from either side of the car.

this is what you really should get, because if you pay 700 for that nonsense why not add another 150 or something for the upmost best?? be like me, I had the same question but then I just saw them,...
If you want looks, go duel. If you was performance go Single. I was told down in Garland at Rotory Performance the single side flowed alot better so I asked then why do you sell the duel side system and they said some people just prefer the looks, But the single side is still performes better plus it's lighter. So I went with the single.
Looks are fine but i've always held the belief that my cars needed to be fast before they looked fast.
