I need to know if this sounds more like the turbo or the oil rings.

It only smokes at idle. If I rev it in neutral, the smoke goes away, but when it returns to idle, the smoke returns 15-20 seconds later. It does not smoke at all while driving, but if I come to a stop, sure enough, 15 or 20 seconds later that nice blue smoke starts coming from the exhaust. Then as soon as I take off again, it's gone.

Just did an oil change with fresh 10w40, and have my PCV vent plumbed back into the intake pre-turbo.

At the moment I am leaning towards the turbo, because the other day, after the car shut off, I was listening under the hood, and every few seconds a sizzle would come from the turbo, almost like something was dripping inside of it. I have not heard that since a couple days ago, but that's all I have to go off of now.

Forgot to add that my plugs look fine, no deposits on them whatsoever.

Sounds similar to when my turbo was going.

It progressed to the point where all of a sudden it smoked waaaay too much to drive. On the last day before I parked it, it would continue to smoke whether I was driving or at idle.

My money is on the turbo, mostly because your plugs are clean and it only smokes on idle when you're sitting.

Stick to 20W-50 and it'll prolly cut down on the smoke and oil loss (Unless you plan to drive it when it's ridiculously cold).

I'll just throw an S5 turbo on there and call it good, I need to anyways. Boost creep keeps me from having fun with the car.

Rebuilding or replacing the turbo is less expensive and envolved than an engine rebuild. Have you checked shaft play in the turbo?
