Stiff steering

Stiff steering

Some one must of asked this already, but i'm having trouble with my steering. Its really really stiff. I have an 1986 FC GXL, and its getting annoying. I don' remember it ever being this bad. Any advice???

Check your fuses first im not shure what fuse its tied in with.
Start the car after it warms up hold the engine 2500 ish for a
minute or so you should start hearing the PS ecu beeping
because it not recieving a signal from the spedo telling it
you are moving. This will tell you if the ecu is active or not.
Its probably cold solder joints inside though

Does your steering make noise when you try to turn at low RPM, (or i guess High RPM for that matter?) A whining noise would suggest that you have air in your Power Steering Lines. Top off your resivoir and turn it lock to lock a few times. More serious cases may have you disasembling your PS lines and doing it the factory specified way. I don't have PS. But I do have an Aerostar with a bad PS system.
If you feel resistance with your seering at different slip angles, that could be more serious.
