Stiff Brake pedal

The brake pedal in my 87 na base has seemed to be overly stiff ever since i got it last november but the breaking abilty is still good, you just have to press down fairly hard. Is this just how fc brakes are? Or is somethin wrong? brake fluid is clean alsoif thats any help ha ha
Thanks!!

"Overly stiff"= booster.
Examine the vac line to the booster, make sure the check valve is present and functional.
Did the booster hiss when the hose was removed?

If anything, I thought the stock FC system was rather soft.

Ya..it will work.BUT if the valve is In reverse(like the hose is backwards) in between the booster and the Steel line that runs on the Firewall,You'll get 'half assed brakes" when the car is sitting there.,BUT when you go for a Drive you REALLY have to Literally Pull your whole BODY down to the Brake pedal,as it will not be allowing the booster to do it's job,,It is Worse than Non Power brakes.

The FC has a fairly stiff pedal, but overly stiff is not normal. You shouldn't have to struggle to get the brakes to work.

$5 says it's working just fine. A few years back I took a MS3 out for a test drive. After getting back in my Tiburon, the clutch felt super hard. The MS3 (from what I was told) has a hydraulic assist clutch, making it super soft. The tiburon didn't have a stiff clutch pedal to begin with, but it's all relative.

Try driving my Audi. The clutch is stiff, the brakes are ridiculously sensitive. Then hop in an FC and see how things are The brakes feel stiff and the clutch feels like a hot knife in butter.

'88 RX brake pedal stiff at times

Lately my brake pedal is sometimes really stiff and doesn't have to be pushed hardly at all to stop and then it goes back to 'normal' with some play in it. Its not hard to stop at all in either scenario. Brake fluid looks fine. Any ideas?

Check your pedal freeplay.
Get the brakes nice and hot and confirm you still have a bit of play in the pedal.
The amount of play will increase when the brakes cool down but you need them not to bind when the fluid is hot.

I was running errands and made several stops the day the pedal became 'tight' so they should have been hot? On the way to my second stop is when I noticed that the pedal almost had no play at all but stopped the car just fine. As I continued on my errands the pedal was back to its normal amount of play. I have not driven it since.
