Hey I got an 89 gtu, which didnt like a curb drifting. Im not sure what happened but now the steering wheel is turned a little to the left when the wheels are pointed straight forward. I have a few theories. One it might of broken some teeth. But I would think there would be a little slop in the steering. Two it might of jumped a few teeth. Not sure if thats possible but im gunna try and get it up on some jack stands and maybe pop it open and take a look. Any ideas anyone?? Things i should not do?

 

easy fix...get an alignment....... it happens from time to time....hitting a pothole can cause that.... when you get an alignment, they automatically center the steering wheel, and ceter the wheels to the steering wheel

 

What caused it though? I want to find out which part of the steering system is week like that.

 

Probably hitting the curb :P

 

weak??? think about how your head would feel if it got rammed into that curb going however fast you were going with 2700-3000lbs of weight slamming it into the curb... i wouldn't call it weak, just not designed for the fuckup you made
