You don't need an upgraded oil cooler. The stock one is very large. You need a good upgraded radiator if you don't already have one.

You're going to have a lot of trouble making equal torque and hp on a rotary without essentially putting in a big turbo that is choked down by a restrictive hotside and small exhaust. On the stock turbo you can get torque and HP pretty close though. You should go for like a BNR stage 2. You will get 280-300rwhp and probably 250rwtq.

Your rotary specialist is a dipshit. Rotaries are notorious for needing major repairs only if they are neglected, abused, or aging, and 60k is nowhere near old for a 12A or 13B that's been maintained and used properly.

The FD is in a complete different class by itself. It is much more car than the FC. BUT...because of that it is not a good choice for a daily driver. It is a weekend car. It is far too complex to count on every day. The FC will be stone reliable, minus the electrical gremlins.
I have an SA, FB, FC, and an FD. The FC gets driven every day. The rest are driven now and again. The FD is driven when it's running right, which is only part of the time. And BTW, my FD has a new engine along with all new reliability mods. When it's running right, it is hands down the better car vs. the FC. But, it requires a ton of time and money to keep it running right.
