Starts then dies
Alright so last weekend I got the motor installed in my '87 TII and I want to thank everyone for their help. Now then, it seems that I can only occasionally get the car to run using some starter fluid, but even then the car dies within a few seconds. I have successfully started the car twice without starter fluid, but the car dies. The AFM is connected, as is the TPS. The fuel lines are connected correctly and the pump flows. I have ignition as shown using a timing light. There are no vacuum leaks that I'm aware of (no cracks on TID, etc.). All the fuses are good.
The motor and car have been sitting for about 8 months.
I have changed the oil, changed the spark plugs, and flushed the gas tank.
There are several connectors not hooked up, however from my research, they are all either diagnostic connectors or not required to run (e.g. O2 sensor).
Any ideas?
PS: I really cant seem to figure out this one hole on the LIM: right behind where the emissions BS would mount, about in the 10 o'clock position above the water line to the turbo. I have no idea what in the hell it is, but it looks like it is supposed to be blocked off, but I have nothing that goes there.

Would that alone couse it to die so shortly after starting?
And i just found a picture of it on the rotary resurrection website.
I dont beleive I have a blockoff plate for that, any other way to seal it up? I aske because I need to get this car running asap, and dont think I'll be able to get a blockoff plate in time.

The hole with two studs? Where the split air pipe used to be? Not a player whether you plug it or not Not a air leak to the Intake.
When you removed the acv did you make a gasket for the blockoff plate? Should have. The acv has ONE small hole that leads to the Intake. So you should have made a gasket that covered the whole area b/t the acv and it's mating with the intake.
It sounds like you Might have a air leak. Like the checkvalve not plugged into the back of the turbo inlet duct. Tubo inlet duct with a crack at the mating point with the turbo. The brake booster hose left off the back of the intake. An intercooler hose with loose clamp. The air bypass valve being removed and its hose going to the bac area not capped off.
Or since a RX will start without a afm plug being on the afm, but not keep running with that plug off, you want to make sure the afm plug is on.

The AFM is connected, so unless it isn't working that shouldnt be a problem. I havent seen any cracks on the TID, but I'll check again this weekend. I'll also double-check the hose to the BAC valve.
