starts really rough...
hey, my car recently has been going through some rough starting troubles. it struggles to idle when starting up the car, i have to press the gas and that sometimes won't work. it takes a couple of key turning to get the car to idle. but once it idles, i can drive stop just fine without any engine struggling problems.
question is what could be the problem? and the solution? thx

i had the same problem and i looked at the starter, it had lost its top bolt and was falling out of its housing so i tightened it and it starts perfectly, just like its a new car...so check out the starter first, if it isnt that then it might be a lil more complicated to find the problem

i had a problem w/ my car before it was warmed up
- sometimes wouldn't start, would just act like it was starting, then stall out
- very jumpy when actually moving at low RPMs, gave about 3 or 4 rough "bucks"
my problem was the foam rubber gasket on my air filter pretty much melted into a tar like substance and got all over my airbox and gummed up my air flow meter (AFM) really bad.
Open up your airbox if you think it might be this. You should see black "tar" on it, and possibly on the foam rubber seal of your airfilter, although mine only had a VERY small amount.

Here are pictures of my airbox and AFM
I fixed it by getting a new airbox and AFM from a junkyard, and just swapping them out, as the "tar" was more than a pain in the *** to get off, and clean, it seemed as if nothing was working. And I broke my AFM in the process
