Starts Great warm, hard start cold!
Like it says: New Battery and alternator, it will start after 4 or 5 trys when cold, and when it is warm, starts fine. 90 vert, na, stock everything. Possibly a grounding issue? Thanks for the advice!
Check your fault codes and see if you have a water thermo sensor fault. Like the plug is off the sensor type fault. ECU defaults to 180*F if the plug is off, therefore making hot engine starts fine as frogs hair.
No. The ECU already thinks the water/engine is hot because the water thermo signal defaults to 180*.
If the plug is off, and the engine is cold, the water thermo sensor defaults to 180* and too little fuel is delivered during start and is hard(er) to start.
The attached graph and words on it explain what is involved during START.
The RTEK 2.1 has a feature with a graph as shown in the picture. With that feature a RTEK owner can select what/how many ms for a given temperature during start. If memory serves there were some responses on the RTEK forum stating that that feature was useful during hot starts. Or starting period. Less fuel during hot starts results in normal starting imho.
Been there, done that ages prior to RTEK ever having that feature on their product.
The default figure for a disconnected water thermo sensor is shown in the FSM. It's 180*F.

No codes thrown and let me explain a bit more in detail. When I crank it cold, the starter spins but at about half speed. Each consecutive attempt it will crank faster, but not enough to start. And when it is warmed up, and I shut it down, the next time I start it, the starter spins plenty fast enough to fire it. Hopes this gives a better understanding.
Thanks
Thanks
Slow starter is the problem and not fuel. Why is it slow? Could be the GROUND wire that should be attached to the long bolt on the starter is not sufficiently tight and clean. It runs directly from the battery neg post to there. It has a branch that attaches just below the left strut tower, to the chassis. So now you have the batt neg post tied to the chassis and the engine.
Anyway, take a look at that thick negative cable that runs to the starter from the battery for tightness and cleanleness.
If it's clean, tight on its attach point.............might be time for a rebuilt starter.
By the way, some people don't attach that gnd wire to the long bolt on the starter. But if it's attached to the bolts that hold the engine/transmission together, that's just fine.
Make sure the Positve cable on the starter is on tight and clean also. That is the large wire on the starter solenoid. Make sure the car is out of gear when you get under there and also disconnect the battery cable for safety and stuff.
EDIT: Part of this answer sucks. Normally if things get hot, the starter turns over slower. That's from memory. I'd check the things above for sure though.

Thanks Hailers! I will check the ground to the starter and clean all of the other grounds. I have had past issues with it not wanting to start up when warm, but not when it is cold, that is what really through me for a loop. I will post after doing what suggested,
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
