sounds like a intake leak.. Mine does it every time i forget to plug in that 1" hose (comming from BAC i think) into the bottom of the intake hose.. If not it can be a lot of things, maybe a plug not plugged in all the way.

Same here, my car in the morining when dead cold will rev to like 3k and then go to 2k and then just die. If i gas it then it wil keep running. After that it will run fine the wholeday. It hasnt done this befiore until 2 weeks ago. I dunno wtf is wrong with it. Its only got 30k original mile son it so. I am thinking it might be a vacum leak of some sort.

Mine started doing the exact same thing just after I rebuilt the engine about 2k ago. Its just as bad in the warm weather as it is below 40F. I have to start it several times before I can actually keep it running. It revs up just like all of yours does, and it just dies, no matter what, its almost like something just shuts and its all over....then I start it again....same thing over and over again....until after like the 7th or 8th time, then it will run

isn't that normal ?
My car NEVER idled at all until I warmed it a little..
I always have to give it a tiny touch of the pedal to start it, then hold it at about 1k until it's warmed a bit, then it will idle at about 500 rpm (lumpy) until totally warmed,, then 700-800 rpm steady..

I've ALWAYS had to do this, and I am just used to it..
I don't have any emissions, or cold start stuff... Throttle body mod...

in winter, I just prop my long windshield scraper against the gas pedal, and adjust it to 1k rpm to let it warm up...

Not like it matters, car doesn't move in NE winter
