Angry Starting Troubles

I have had the short from hell in this car for months. Still can't manage to single out what is causing it, all I know is that it's in the engine. Anyway the other day i went out to start it and all it did and still does is make this horrible electic motor type noise with no engine cranking at all. The belts do spin, but that's it a far as I can tell.

Not sure if this is realted at all - but my gas pedal feels lkie it's kinda stuck and won't rise back past the half-way mark.

Can anyone help ????

How can the belts move and the engine Not Crank???..Engine Whining? No spark..Flooded..Sounds like it Flooded from sitting..and the linkage is a little sticky..Lube your Throttle linkage and related cable ..Then take the plugs out and clean them..Pull THE EGI FUSE roll the engine over 30 seconds..Then get a milkshake straw and dip it in motor oil to hold about 2/3rds a straw load of oil..put the Straw's contents into the lower spark plug hole..and roll the engine over 3 seconds..Now put the EGI fuse back in and put the plugs in(correctly placed and wired)..now get in the car and without pushing on the pedal ,Crank the engine over..It should start if the engine had no other related problems..

I took out both the egi comp and egi inj fuses and still nothing - I couldn't get a spark from the cap i checked - too cold to work in this weather.

Would a push start work ?

This is really getting to me....should I bring this into my rotary guy and have him look at it ?
