so ive got an 87 tII and it runs just fine the only problem is starting. when i go to start, it turns and turns but it wont start,well it starts 1 out of 10 times just fine. i thought it was flooding at first but i have a fuel cutoff switch and no matter what i do nothing happens until i give it a little gas and it starts ok but it idles rough and low until hold it at 2k for a minute then it idles fine. ive looked over the fsm and i just dont know where to start. any ideas?

 

low compression??? What is the compression on the motor???

 

well im not to sure, its a recently reuilt atkins motor but i havent compression tested it... whats the best way to test it?
