I recently purchased an 88 FC and it will not start. I knew of this problem before purchasing it, but would like to get the motor running before stripping the car of everything to paint it. The issue I am having is there is spark, air and the fuel is getting to the injectors with no problem. I can take out the secondary injectors and poor gas in the opening to get the motor to start (so I know the motor runs) yet it dies after a matter of seconds once the fuel I poored in the open injector whole runs out. I am thinking it might be one of two relays causing the problem. There is one in the engine bay on the drivers side, and the other is under the passenger side of the dash. I don't have my schematics infront of me so I can't remember the exact title for the relays. I do know they are for the fuel system though. I am asking for opinions on what could be causing this problem other than the relays, just incase they are not bad. Thanks for any advice available.

 

Get out the FSM and check the fuel pump and pressure. That may be it.

 

Thanks I will try that, I know I am getting fuel to the injectors and the pump is brand new, but I haven't checked the pressure yet.

 

have you checked your fuses yet?
