starting problems?
Hey, I have a 87' turbo 2 RX7 and its a great car and it runs very strong. However the last few weeks have been a pain in the ***. I replaced the starter b/c I was having problems with the original one and the one I use was not oem. So, it was very weak and after further review of this new starter it was also bad. So, I forked out lots of money to replace the starter with an OEM starter and its very strong and gets the job done. Unfourtunatly it hasn't fixed a problem I thought it would take car of. If I run my car hard for a short while (Not that hard) no longer that 10 miles even and park it for about 20-30 min (long enough to eat) and go back to start it up it makes the starting noises but wont ever turn over. So the starter is doing its job but for some reason the motor just wont hit? Its' really annoying b/c if you run it hard and do the same routine but only turn it off and crank it right back up it has no problems? I've taken it to my rotary guy and of course he can't get it to act up? Oh, I also have a great idle so thats not a related problem. I'm lost and my rotary guy has no answers yet? Please if you have any info or thoughts on this please let me know. I'm desperate for anything.
Thank you

I'm having a hard time understanding what exactly the problem is. "starting noises but wont ever turn over." i'm guesing you mean the motor is not turning over. If that is the case J-Rat does sound like he's got it. Check those teeth on the flywheel. Make sure the starter gear is lined up with the flywheel as well, when it is engaged.
