I have the exact same problem. But mine would start on the third attempt but now it doesn't start at all without a pushstart. I already changed starters out and don't think that is the problem.

Bump

the clicking sounds like it ur starter motor i cant see it beening your engine if you use it daily and always cheack your oil it shouldnt be that! I would pull of u stater motor and strip it down, its not that hard to do a coulpe of srews and and couple of 10 mm bolts and cheack and see how long the carbon brushes are it will on the top of the starter motor if one brush is to short and not touching the com (the copper color thing) that would be your promble. if the are still long i would start looking at the soilnoid! if u have any prombles with it just pm me and i will help u thought it coz at work we fix starter motors everyday! and if you have the hayes manual it tells u how to do it in there too!

Most common cause

Dirty battery post connections. Solution... Clean with battery post cleaning too from any auto parts store.

Second most common

Bad starter Sylinoid. Solution.... replace

Rare but it happens problem (and I'm dealing with this now)
Cable from battery to Starter is damaged. Your starter is trying to draw the amps it needs, but the damage is creating too much resistance.

Solution.... Either run a heavy guage "jumper wire" from the positive battery terminal to the starter or go to a wrecking yard and cut out a stock one from the main harness.

Good luck with this one. It can be frustrating.
