Starting Issue and Shock suggestions

I am the new owner of a GXL 1986 2+2 with automatic transmission (took delivery 05/23.07). The car is in great condition. I had all fluids changed today just to be sure and got the car on a lift so I was able to inspect beneath the car. I noticed that the passenger side rear shock had a leak and possibly a small oil pan leak.

What shock would you recommend for stock setup? I have no plans to mod unless something breaks.

Every now and then when I turn the ignition key I got no response (1. when I picked up the car and 2. today at the store), Turn off and try again and it starts ok. Since I have had the car such a short time I can tell you that I have started it a total of 13 times. Would this be the ignition switch or something else? I don't have any idea and wondered if anyone out there had seen similiar issues.

TIA
Charles

hey i have an 87 GXl w/ the same problem.

When you get no response pull the shifter down to reverse and back to park... the sensor isn't getting knocked in right (im hoping a new bushing set will fix it for me)

as for the shock can't say because i got new electronic adjustables (i didnt want buttons that didnt do nuttin lo)

For a "stockish" strut I would say Tokico Blues.
