Question starting

Just recently my 7 is having a problem starting and I don't know what the problem is. I turn the key and it takes a while before it kicks whats the problem?

It could be a bad battery or a loose battery cable. I am moving this thread to the 2Gen forum where you will probably get better help from our problem-solving gurus. The Rotary Performance forum is more for high-horsepower issues.

Do you mean the starter does not kick in right away when you turn the key?

Can you hear the starter whirlling, and no kick? or is it nothing and then boom it startes cranking?

Check to see if there is alot of corrosion around the battery terminals. Clean them with a wire brush and make sure they are tight.

i am having a problem with my rx7 starting the engine seems to whiine a bit before it kicks in. i knkow it is not the battery becasue the battery is not even a year old.

could be your alternator, or the cables somewhere

Could be your alt or battery, try cleaning everything up first and see how it works. Good luck!
