Starter wont line up to the flywheel
I just replaced the flywheel, clutch, and pp w/ ACT products, Flywheel is ACT prolite.
Put the tranny back on and I go to put the starter in and the teeth wont line up with the flywheel, the teeth from the starter dont reach the teeth from the flywheel. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Brian

They aren't supposed to reach the flywheel, until you're trying to start the motor.
*edit* taht was vague. What i mean is, when you use the starter, the gear on the starter slides on the pinion to engage the flywheel teeth to start the motor, using a twist cut in the pinion and.. its hard to describe without seeing it. Anyway, once the motor starts, the spring inside pulls the teeth back off to disengage. Otherwise you'd be spinning your starter at eleventy billion rpm while you are driving, and that's not good.
