so i took this hot girl with me and took her out to a nice mountain pass i've been running for the last year or so. On a straight away i accerated and got to about 3rd gear and then it starts to spudder really bad and not much any power. i pull over and it slowly dies and i can't start it at all.. a few days later i went to try to start it and it sounded weird and smells like fuel (not sure) and putting out smoke..

i'm 80% sure it's blown but i just wanted to make sure...

it's a 87 turboII with 165k original miles. exhuast and downpipe.. likes to boost higher than normal...

 

Yeah, it's probably blown. Samething happened to me, except I was in 4th gear.

I hear a lot of stories where rx7's get jealous of other women and do things like blow up or flood really bad.. i got a sticker for my car. it's right next to the "bitchin' Camero" sticker. says "my car ****-blocks me on a daily basis"

ohwell. i'm ordering a jdm motor in a week or so. just sucks becuase someone broke into it while it was sitting over night and stole my tools, cd player, optima battery and stripped the strut bolts trying to take the strut tower off... they bashed the driver side window and took out the t2 mirrors with a bat or something and the interior smells like urine.

good thing i had the Sport rx7... that will be my new turboII. just sucks becuase that was like 500 dollars of craftman tools..

I'm probably gonna wind up getting a J-spec TII motor, as well. It's going into a base though, say goodbye to my drivetrain

EDIT: Just saw yours is going into a sport... Make sure you swap over everything so you don't have more problems down the road.

Yeah i'm parting out the turboII completely and everything is going into the sport.
I have a friend that lives about 90 miles south from me and his dad is like a rotary god.

they were going to take my j-spec motor and do a mild street port and do something with water jackets... what ever that is. and put in bigger secondaries with a FCD.. which i should have done in the first place. So i'm excited about the new motor i'm getting.

I was a idiot. it would creep up to 9-10psi without a FCD on a high mileage motor.


and bummer... no sun roof in the sport... anyways i don't know where i was going with this...i better stop
